Hampton is the southern new-town — Hargate, Vale, Leys and the streets around Serpentine Green — built from the late 1990s onwards on the brick pits. The houses are younger than Bretton or Werrington, but builder-specified windows and a standard white panel door were never meant to be the last word. The architectural style here is more contemporary, so aluminium casements and slim bifolds are a larger share of the work than in the older townships.
