Coverage Details

What your guarantee covers

01

Product Defects

If any part of your window, door, or conservatory develops a manufacturing defect — warped profiles, failed seals, discolouration, hardware failure — within the 10-year period, we will repair or replace at no cost to you.

02

Workmanship

If our installation causes a problem — a window that drops, a draught caused by poor sealing, a door that binds — that is covered too. Not just the product, but the way it was fitted.

03

Glass Unit Failure

Misting between panes indicates a failed seal — allowing moisture into the glass unit. This is covered under our guarantee. We will replace the glass unit at no charge.

04

Hardware & Mechanisms

Handles, hinges, locking mechanisms, and operating hardware that fail under normal use are covered for the full guarantee period.

Not covered by the guarantee

  • Damage caused by accident, misuse, or third-party interference
  • Normal wear to consumable parts such as door thresholds and weatherstripping
  • Cosmetic damage caused after installation
  • Problems arising from structural building movement not related to our installation

Why Insurance-Backed Matters

Protected even if
we ever closed

A company guarantee is only as good as the company that gives it. If a business closes, its guarantee typically dies with it — and the UK home improvement sector has seen too many examples of this.

An insurance-backed guarantee is underwritten by a separate insurance policy. This means your protection is independent of our continued trading. Even in the unlikely event that Custom Choice were to cease operations during your guarantee period, you would still be able to make a valid claim.

Underwritten by an independent insurer
Valid for 10 years from installation date
Transferable to new owners on sale
Both product and workmanship covered

Adds value when you sell

The transferable guarantee is a genuine selling point. Buyers and their solicitors will ask for documentation — we provide it automatically.

📄

Documentation within 28 days

Your guarantee certificate arrives by post and email within 28 days of installation, along with your FENSA certificate and product documentation.

Direct aftercare line

Common Questions

Guarantee FAQs

What's the difference between a manufacturer's guarantee and your guarantee?

Most manufacturers offer product guarantees of 5–10 years on specific components. Our guarantee covers both the product and our workmanship — so if the way we installed a window causes a problem, that's also covered, even if the manufacturer's guarantee wouldn't apply.

What does "insurance-backed" mean?

An insurance-backed guarantee means that even if Custom Choice were to cease trading during the guarantee period, a separate insurance policy would still honour valid claims. Your protection does not depend on us remaining in business.

Do I need to register my guarantee?

No. Your guarantee is activated automatically on completion of installation. You will receive documentation by post and email within 28 days of your fitting date.

What happens when I make a claim?

Contact us directly — by phone, email, or the form on this page. One of our team will visit to assess the issue and arrange repair or replacement as appropriate. We aim to respond to all warranty enquiries within 2 business days.

Is the guarantee transferable if I sell my home?

Yes. The guarantee is attached to the property, not the person. When you sell your home, the remaining guarantee period transfers to the new owner — a genuine selling point that adds value to your property.

Does FENSA certification affect my guarantee?

FENSA certification confirms that the installation meets Building Regulations — it is separate from but complementary to your guarantee. Both are issued on completion. The FENSA certificate is important for conveyancing when you sell.
