What actually happens at a home survey
How long does it take?
Around 45 minutes to an hour for a typical window and door job, longer if you’re planning a conservatory or an orangery, because the design conversation matters more than the measuring. We measure every opening, look at the reveals and the sills, and talk through what you actually want the room to do. You’ll get the quote in writing afterwards — nothing is decided on the doorstep.
Will I get a hard sell?
No. Nobody here works on commission, and the person who surveys your home is a senior member of our own team, not an agency salesperson. There is no “today only” discount, because a price that expires at the end of the visit was never a real price. Take as long as you need — most people are comparing two or three quotes, and we’d rather you did.
What should I have ready?
Nothing formal. It helps if you can get to every window and door we’re quoting for, and if whoever shares the decision is around — it saves a second visit. If you’ve saved photos of a colour or a style you like, show us. If you have a budget in mind, telling us early means we design to it rather than quoting something you were never going to buy.
Am I committing to anything?
No. The survey and the quote are free and carry no obligation. If the numbers don’t work or you decide to wait a year, that’s a perfectly normal outcome and you won’t be chased for it.
